After a successful circuit-racing career, Tim tasted Rally in 2017, and became the Champion of the Northern Region of MARB. For 2018 he got a great opportunity from JG-2 Racing Team, he given the chance to participate in Rallye2 with an Opel Adam R2, with Tamás Tímár on his side.
The winterish spring made some difficulties, the duo only had their first test before Eger Rallye. Gábor didn’t know the stage well, and never been to Rallye2 before, therefore the team only required a finish, and learning.
The 10 SS of Eger Rallye held on Saturday, building a hard task for more than 50 participators.
Tim made a careful start, but the duo were in the Top 10 after the first SS. He built the pace from stage to stage, all the way up to 4th place, and finished 3rd place on the final Powerstage, which gave him extra points. Gábor and Tamás finished 3rd overall, and 2nd in category, with only 5 seconds behind the overall winner.
„ Everything was new. The car, the stages, the runoff, all of it. We were pretty nervous, didn’t want to make mistakes. Through the race we gained positions, and it became pretty close to the end. Maybe we could’ve won, but I didn’t want to take any risk. We gathered many points, and we hope that we paid back the trust in us. Special thanks for the team, and supporters.
